Left-hand traffic
In the Cayman Islands you drive on the left. Many vehicles are left-hand drive imports, which can feel strange at first. Take it slowly for the first few trips.
Roundabouts
Grand Cayman has plenty of roundabouts, especially around George Town and the Seven Mile Beach corridor. Give way to traffic from the right and signal when leaving.
Speed limits
Speed limits are low, using miles per hour, and enforced. Town speeds are slower still. Follow posted signs.
Traffic
The road along Seven Mile Beach and into George Town is busy at commuter times and on cruise days. Plan extra time for the airport.
Parking
Most hotels and attractions have parking. George Town can be tight on cruise days.
Drinking and driving
Penalties are serious. If you are going out to eat or drink, book a driver.
If you would rather not
Use a private driver for the days you do not want to drive. See rental car vs private driver.
