Why there are no meters
Taxis in the Cayman Islands are not metered. Fares are based on set rates by distance and number of passengers, and the government's CI:GO app gives fare estimates. That is fine if you know the system and awkward if you do not. Our answer is simple: we quote in advance.
What decides the price
- Route. Airport to a Seven Mile Beach hotel costs less than airport to Rum Point.
- Vehicle. A Voxy, a Hiace and a Suburban are priced differently.
- Passengers and luggage. More people or more bags can mean a bigger vehicle.
- Time. Late-night, early-morning and holiday trips may be priced differently. Tell us the time and we say.
- Waiting. Hourly and day hire is quoted by time. See private driver hire.
What you get in a quote

Currency
